UNITY SAND CEREMONY FOR SARASOTA WEDDINGS
The Unity Sand Ceremony For Sarasota Weddings expresses the coming together of two people or two families into one new family. The ceremony is held on one of our beautiful Sarasota and surrounding area beaches such as Siesta Key Beach, Long Boat Key Beach, Lido Key Beach, Anna Maria Island Beach, Coquina Beach, Holmes Beach, Casey Key Beach, Manasota Key Beach, Bradenton Beach or Venice Beach is a simple idea that can be incredibly powerful. The way that I do it in the ceremonies I am officiating is to have each person take turns pouring sand from their smaller shells into a big Abalone shell. The persons pouring can be the bride and groom only or their child or children from each family. I feel very emotional when the children seem to be emotionally affected by the joining together of two families.
The Unity Sand Ceremony for Sarasota Weddings completes the same purposes of the Unity Candle Ceremony in, for instance, a church. Because of wind outside, and especially on a beach, the flame will be extinguished in short order by the wind. So the Unity Sand Ceremony for Sarasota Weddings serves the same purpose of representing the confirmation of couples or families into one mutual union.
I place the Unity Sand Ceremony for Sarasota Weddings after the vows and ring ceremonies so that the Unity Sand Ceremony is a final affirmation of joining together. What I say during the Unity Sand Ceremony for Sarasota Weddings is: “Today, you are making a commitment of your eternal love for each other. As you each hold your sand, the separate containers of sand represent your lives to this moment, individual and unique. As you now combine your sand together, you lives also join together as one”.
