UNITY SAND WEDDING-ENGLEWOOD BEACH
This couple are having a Unity Celebration at their wedding on Englewood Beach, Florida! As the bride and groom hold their separate smaller shells of sand I tell them that each of their shells represent their lives to that moment, individual and unique. And then as they combine their sand together in a larger Abalone shell, their lives symbolically join together as one. I give them the shell as as reminder of their oneness to take home.
The Unity Shell Celebration can be done either on a beach or somewhere where there is no sand because I will bring our famous Siesta Key sand for use in their ceremony. The Siesta Key sand is world famous. It is on Siesta Key Beach which was voted the Number One Beach in the United State by Trip Advisor this year. The Unity Sand Celebration may be used in either a non-denominational ceremony or in a ceremony which is for a specific denomination. In churches there is often a Unity Candle Celebration where the bride and groom each use a smaller candle to light a bigger one. Of course, candles cannot stay lighted because of breezes outside.
Dear Rev Sophie,
You have perfected the beauty of the Unity Shell Celebration. In your hands, the ceremony is unique and special for each couple being joined together. Its’ poignancy is evident.
